March Petition regarding planning and improvements
In March 2010, a petition signed by nearly 300 residents of St Johnston was presented by Cllr Frank McBrearty to the Mayor of Donegal, Brendan Byrne. The petition highlighted concerns about cowboy builders and alleged bad planning decisions. The residents stated that some work had been done in relation to constructing a sewage plant but this work had been stopped. There was also a problem with water pressure in St Johnston and Ard Baithin. The petition requested the provision of litter bins and repairs to potholes and collapsed/weak roads.
