Riverview Meats
In March 2000, Donegal Democrat ran an article about Riverview Meats St Johnston. The premises were then owned by Taughboyne Development Association. The company Riverview Meat Products was owned by Willie Houston and Sean Watson Carrigans. Then it employed 31 people. The company commenced operations in August 1996 with the processing of beef and pork. Exactly 3 years later, it began supplying shops and retail outlets. With the closure of Fruit of the Loom, many women were left unemployed. 12 of these women gained employment with Riverview Meats. The company used local outlets to buy fuel and employed a local firm as distributors.
